Our approach is based on the fact that there are certain fixed costs in the operation of heavy aircraft that contribute inflexibly to overall operations. There are only a few non-fixed costs which can be realized with the help of emerging economies, particularly Asia, and the development and expansion of maintenance capacities. It is widely accepted that in 10 years that approximate parity will be acheived in Heavy Maintenance projects being performed in the Americas, Europe and Asia, with a 30% market share for each with the remaining 10% share being split between the Middle East and Africa. This accounts for a 6% reduction in HM projects in the Americas, a 1% increase for Europe and a 5% increase for Asia. The primary factors contributing to this are economic in nature: labor costs in Asia can be 70% less than in the other major competing markets. This creates a new opportunity for aircraft operators and MRO companies alike to form new alliances and realize outstanding growth.
